Basketball Game Preview: Wilmot Panthers vs. Elkhorn Elks

The Wilmot Panthers will face off against the Elkhorn Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilmot is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Wilmot came up short against Burlington and fell 44-35. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Demons are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, Elkhorn also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Westosha Central by a score of 55-45.

Wilmot's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Elkhorn, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Wilmot lost to Elkhorn at home by a decisive 56-40 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Wilmot avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
