Basketball Preview: Linton-Stockton Miners vs. Terre Haute South Vigo Braves
Linton-Stockton has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Terre Haute South Vigo Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Linton-Stockton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past White River Valley 72-24 on the road. Linton-Stockton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Terre Haute South Vigo came up short against the Quakers on Saturday and fell 64-55. While losing is never fun, Terre Haute South Vigo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Quakers are ranked 41st).
Linton-Stockton's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Linton-Stockton took their victory against the Braves when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 77-52. Will Linton-Stockton repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
