Softball Recap: Suffern Mounties vs. Mahopac Indians
Suffern extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 18 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-5. They lost 7-1 to the Mahopac Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 back in March.
As for Mahopac, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Mahopac's part, Nicole Behler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Camdyn Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Shivonne Barry was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Suffern will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Albertus Magnus at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Mahopac, they will face off against Yorktown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
