Football Recap: HEM Miners vs. Hulett Devils
HEM lost against Hulett back in October of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The HEM Miners fell 85-74 to the Hulett Devils. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (64), the Miners still had to take the loss.
Several Miners players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Scott, who threw for 374 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. With that strong performance, Scott is now averaging an impressive 328 passing yards per game. Naythen Atencio was another key pass catcher, picking up 255 receiving yards.
HEM's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
HEM will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Farson-Eden at 1:00 p.m. on September 20th. Hopefully HEM focused on turnovers this week as team gave up five on Saturday. As for Hulett, they will be defending their home-field for the first time this season they go up against Riverside on Friday.
