Football Game Preview: Spruce Creek Hawks vs. Pine Ridge Panthers

Spruce Creek is a perfect 4-0 against Pine Ridge since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Spruce Creek is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Spruce Creek beat Deltona 13-7. The final result isn't all the surprising considering the Hawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Wolves are ranked 126th).

One reason for the win was Spruce Creek's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for ten sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Emani Mccaskill and Zion Willis, who racked up all ten sacks between them. Willis is crushing it when it comes to sacks: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pine Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Seminole on Monday by a score of 13-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Spruce Creek pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.4 points on average over those games. As for Pine Ridge, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Spruce Creek took their win against Pine Ridge when the teams last played last Monday by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
