Baseball Recap: Palm Beach Gardens Comes Up Short

Palm Beach Gardens had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-12 to make it seven. They came up short against the Okeechobee Brahmans, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Brahmans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in February.

Palm Beach Gardens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tony Bieber, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Okeechobee, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

On Okeechobee's side, Bradyn Lineberry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Lineberry has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Levi Larson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Landon Hall was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Gardens will take on Jupiter Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Okeechobee, they will face off against Suncoast at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
