Baseball Recap: West Broward Takes Down Southwest in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Broward walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Southwest Eagles 5-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-0 win on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Ivan Sabater, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ethan Lindor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

West Broward is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.
