Softball Game Preview: Fort LeBoeuf Bison vs. Sharpsville Blue Devils

The Fort LeBoeuf Bison will face off against the Sharpsville Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sharpsville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fort LeBoeuf, who comes in off a win.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Fort LeBoeuf and Warren had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bison were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Dragons on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bison, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Fort LeBoeuf let Ryan Shields and Kallie Stull run wild. Shields went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Stull got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gemma Malinowski, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Sharpsville came up short against Union City on Friday and fell 10-7. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly three runs.

Kenlyn Masters and Maddison Sump did some serious damage despite the final result: Masters went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double, while Sump went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That triple was Masters' first of the season. Ali Candiotti was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Fort LeBoeuf's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Sharpsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
