Recap: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Fivay Falcons
The Gulf Buccaneers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They really took it to Fivay for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-14 win at home. The result was nothing new for Gulf, who have now won three games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Antonio Muniz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 202 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 86 receiving yards. Muniz was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards. Ethan Holewski was another key contributor, gaining 85 total yards and two touchdowns.
Gulf's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Leading the way was Travis Rackard and his two sacks.
Gulf now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fivay, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
Gulf will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Nature Coast Tech will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Fivay, they will head out on the road to face off against River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
