Football Recap: Gardiner Tigers vs. Messalonskee Eagles
Gardiner lost against Messalonskee back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gardiner Tigers fell 13-6 to the Messalonskee Eagles.
Messalonskee was led to victory by Tatum Doucette and Denny Martin. Doucette rushed for 89 yards, while Martin picked up 26 receiving yards and a touchdown. Martin was even better on defense, forcing a fumble and making three total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Gardiner now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Messalonskee, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gardiner will square off against Skowhegan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
