Oswego dropped their record down to 15-7 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Downers Grove North Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.
Peter Barnes paced Oswego's offense, picking up 11 kills. Barnes got some help from Greyson Covay and his 19 assists. Will Mundsinger controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
As for Downers Grove North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. The win was familiar territory for they, who have now won six contests in a row.
Downers Grove North can attribute much of their success to Stellan Hammond, who had nine digs and two assists. That's the most digs Hammond has posted since back in April of 2024.
Oswego wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Wheaton-Warrenville South on the 26th. As for Downers Grove North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Lyons on the 26th.
