Football Game Preview: Jerome Tigers vs. Wood River Wolverines

The Jerome Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Wood River Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wood River took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Jerome, who comes in off a win.

Jerome's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Caldwell 45-0. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Jerome's defense and their 5.5 sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Jack Giles, Gunner Guillory, and Britt Wells also recorded half a sack).

Meanwhile, Wood River took a blow against Gooding on Friday, falling 41-7. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win made it two in a row for Jerome and bumps their season record up to 2-6. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games. As for Wood River, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Jerome was taken down by Wood River 58-8 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
