Preview: Eastside Blazers vs. Lakeland Lakers
Eastside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Lakeland Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Eastside strolled past Lakewood Park Christian with points to spare, taking the game 56-38.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 12 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact Lakeland proved on Saturday. They secured a 51-47 W over Bethany Christian.
Lakeland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keegan Merrifield, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for Merrifield. Another player making a difference was Nate Keil, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Eastside now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lakeland, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.
Eastside came up short against Lakeland when the teams last played back in January, falling 33-29. Can Eastside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
