Baseball Game Preview: San Ramon Valley Wolves vs. Rodriguez Mustangs

The San Ramon Valley Wolves will challenge the Rodriguez Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Ramon Valley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

San Ramon Valley might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-3 to Junipero Serra, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

San Ramon Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Williams, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That run marked the first that Williams scored this season. Mitch Nelson was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Pioneer.

Nick Schikore tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sean O'Connell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Benjaman 'BJ' Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

San Ramon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Rodriguez, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
