Baseball Recap: West Shore Christian Academy Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Shore Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Lancaster County Christian Lions 8-7. That's two games straight that West Shore Christian Academy has won by just one run.

Connor Edwards made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Edwards was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Memphis Barron, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Locker, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

West Shore Christian Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Looking ahead, West Shore Christian Academy will take on La Academia Charter at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The last five games West Shore Christian Academy has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lancaster County Christian, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Brandywine Heights Area at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
