Basketball Game Preview: Delhi Hawks vs. Waterford Wildcats

The Delhi Hawks will challenge the Waterford Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waterford took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Delhi, who comes in off a win.

Delhi is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 72-36 win over Le Grand.

Meanwhile, Waterford came up short against Mariposa County on Wednesday and fell 54-42.

Delhi will have to contain Elijah Thornberry as he made an impact in Waterford's last game. He posted 14 points. Izaiah Sanchez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Delhi's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10. As for Waterford, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Delhi and Waterford were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but Delhi came up empty-handed after a 43-42 defeat. Can Delhi avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
