Baseball Game Preview: Lake Country Lutheran Lightning vs. Kenosha Christian Life Eagles

Lake Country Lutheran has gone a perfect 10-0 against Kenosha Christian Life recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lightning will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Lake Country Lutheran will be strutting in after a win while Kenosha Christian Life will be coming in after a defeat.

Lake Country Lutheran's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Heritage Christian as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lightning needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Braden Theis and Jackson Menzel made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Theis pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Menzel tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Theis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Menzel scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Theis a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Lake Country Lutheran let Jack Poellot and Preston Manthei run wild. Poellot scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Manthei scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Manthei a new career-high. Gabe Snyder was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lake Country Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Christian only posted an OBP of .263.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Kenosha Christian Life's offense. They came up short against Living Word Lutheran on Tuesday, falling 18-0. The Eagles have struggled against the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

The win got Lake Country Lutheran back to even at 1-1. As for Kenosha Christian Life, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went Lake Country Lutheran's way against Kenosha Christian Life in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Lake Country Lutheran made off with a 19-2 victory.
