Preview: Robertson County Black Devils vs. Covington Latin Trojans
Robertson County is 3-0 against Covington Latin since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Robertson County Black Devils will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Covington Latin Trojans at 2:00 p.m. Robertson County has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
After soaring to 56 points the game before, Robertson County were a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 85-18 loss at the hands of Felicity-Franklin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Robertson County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Covington Latin had to endure a 17-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 65-39 margin over St. Patrick. The win was just what Covington Latin needed coming off of a 71-29 loss in their prior match.
Robertson County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Covington Latin, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
Robertson County won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Covington Latin 1-0. Will Robertson County repeat their success, or does Covington Latin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
