Softball Recap: Eau Gallie Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

Eau Gallie had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Citrus Hurricanes an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won 14 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jordan Stout made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Gabriella Barrera was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shyla Eppert, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Eau Gallie hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

Eau Gallie's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Citrus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Coming up, Eau Gallie will take on Tavares at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Citrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
