Baseball Recap: South El Monte Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South El Monte can now relate to. They fell just short of the Foothill Tech Dragons by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 21st.

South El Monte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Ortega, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

South El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Foothill Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-13.

South El Monte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Foothill Tech, they will challenge Estancia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
