Baseball Recap: Woodstock Academy Has No Trouble Against Norwich Free Academy

Woodstock Academy came out on top against Norwich Free Academy on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Centaurs were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Centaurs, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Camden Nason and Tanner Graham did most of the damage at the plate: Nason went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Graham went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Woodstock Academy is 2-1 when Graham posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Blair, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

The victory got Woodstock Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Norwich Free Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Coming up, Woodstock Academy will head out on the road to square off against Maloney at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Norwich Free Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Westerly at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.5, the Bulldogs 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
