Newberry lost against Union County on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fightin' Tigers. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Newberry started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-19.

Despite the defeat, Newberry saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Raigan Wockenfuss had 22 digs and two aces. Wockenfuss has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Bayley Staier was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave her a new career-high.

Newberry's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Union County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.

Newberry has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Keystone Heights on the 30th. As for Union County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Bell on the 30th.
