Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson Area vs. Cornerstone Christian

The Jefferson Area Falcons will head out to face off against the Cornerstone Christian Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson Area's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Jefferson Area's offense. They lost 5-0 to Edgewood on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian hasn't lost a match since August 30th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They never let Christian Community get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for Cornerstone Christian, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Christian Community from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Jaiden Burkholder led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Cornerstone Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-1 record this season. As for Jefferson Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12-1.

Jefferson Area suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Cornerstone Christian when the teams last played back in August. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
