Baseball Game Preview: Ontario Christian Knights vs. Linfield Christian Lions

For the second straight game, Ontario Christian will face off against Linfield Christian. The Knights will face off against the Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ontario Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Linfield Christian will come in with three straight victories.

Ontario Christian came up short against Linfield Christian on Tuesday, falling 14-2.

For Linfield Christian's part, Drew Taylor made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Taylor was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Luke Waddell and Sawyer Franzen did most of the damage at the plate: Waddell went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Franzen went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Waddell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Harris, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Linfield Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive games.

Linfield Christian's record now sits at 14-5-1. As for Ontario Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.
