Stanwood can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the Highland Bulldogs by a score of 65-57. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Stanwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Thorson, who went 8 of 11 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Rece Green, who went 8 of 17 en route to 22 points and three steals.

Stanwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in five consecutive matches.

Stanwood's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Highland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Stanwood will head out to challenge Arlington at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Arlington's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Stanwood has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Highland, they will challenge North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
