Baseball Recap: Elkins Victorious

Elkins posted their closest victory since March 13th on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Providence Academy Patriots, sneaking past 9-7. That's more bragging rights for the Elks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Elkins has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Providence Academy, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-5.

Elkins will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair will be back at it again later today.
