Borah and Timberline are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Borah made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Boise, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Brave on Thursday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Reese Naylor and Kayla Campbell did most of the damage at the plate: Naylor went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Campbell went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave Naylor a new career-high. Alice Brown was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Borah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Timberline faced Capital in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wolves were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Golden Eagles. Considering the Wolves have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Delaney Wright made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mallorie Casch, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Graklanoff, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Borah pushed their record up to 3-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Timberline, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Borah took their victory against Timberline in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
