Basketball Recap: Gibson County Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Gibson County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 47-27 to the South Gibson Hornets on Tuesday. The Pioneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

South Gibson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jade Reed led the charge by going 7 for 9 on her way to 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Reed continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Dunn, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Gibson County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. As for South Gibson, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gibson County will challenge Peabody at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Gibson, they will face off against Dyersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
