Baseball Recap: Bishop Brossart Has No Trouble Against Newport

While Bishop Brossart put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Newport. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Carter Boruske looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Keagen Gulley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Schultz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Bishop Brossart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bishop Brossart now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Newport, they are on a 52-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-27.

Coming up, Bishop Brossart will face off against Newport Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newport, they are taking a road trip to square off against Covington Latin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
