Basketball Game Preview: Slinger Owls vs. Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes

Slinger is 2-8 against Whitefish Bay since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Slinger Owls will head out to square off against the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Slinger's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.

Slinger is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Homestead, who was ranked 15th at the time (Slinger was ranked eighth). Slinger took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Homestead on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Whitefish Bay humbled West Bend East with an 81-34 victory. The Blue Dukes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

Whitefish Bay is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.3 points. As for Slinger, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 13-1 and their overall record down to 18-2.

Slinger barely slipped by Whitefish Bay in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 47-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Slinger since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
