After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moore Haven, Clewiston was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Suncoast Chargers as they made off with a 14-1 victory. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 14-2 win the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Ansley Story was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Clewiston got a massive performance out of Salia Brathwaite, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Daylen Moss was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Clewiston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.8.
