Basketball Game Preview: Rantoul Eagles vs. Centennial Chargers

Having just played yesterday, the Rantoul Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Centennial Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rantoul has given up an average of 53.6 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Rantoul was beaten by Pontiac 67-38. The Eagles have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Centennial, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 64-46 win over Urbana on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Rantoul, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Rantoul came up short against Centennial in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 50-45. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
