Fowler has gone 9-1 against Hoehne recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Fowler Grizzlies will look to defend their home court against the Hoehne Farmers at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Fowler's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Hoehne has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Fowler was able to grind out a solid win over Center, taking the game 42-32.
Fowler got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Montoya out in front who went 7 for 15 en route to 20 points. Cael True was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoehne). They breezed by Walsenburg to the tune of 85-47 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Farmers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Hoehne's win came from a few key players Fowler will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nathan Zamora, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points and eight steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Bobby Terry, who went 7 for 11 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Hoehne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Hoehne's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Fowler, they have also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fowler has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hoehne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 40.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
