Basketball Game Preview: Gordon Central Warriors vs. Chattooga Indians

Gordon Central hasn't had much luck against Chattooga recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gordon Central Warriors will challenge the Chattooga Indians at 7:30 p.m. Gordon Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Chattooga likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Gordon Central earned a 72-60 win over Dade County.

Meanwhile, everything went Chattooga's way against Armuchee on Thursday as Chattooga made off with an 81-61 victory. Given Chattooga's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Armuchee is ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gordon Central pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Chattooga, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Gordon Central couldn't quite finish off Chattooga when the teams last played on January 7th and fell 53-50. Can Gordon Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
