The Yellowjackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Escalon on Friday. That's two games straight that Hilmar have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Sonora was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell just short of Orestimba by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for Sonora in their meetings with Orestimba: they've now lost four in a row.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Hilmar, their win bumped their record up to 14-2-2.

Hilmar got the 'W' in their previous meeting on January 14th against Sonora by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
