Baseball Game Preview: Mohave Thunderbirds vs. Coconino Panthers

Mohave hasn't had much luck against Coconino recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Mohave will challenge Coconino at 4:00 p.m. Mohave has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mohave is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Flagstaff, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, Coconino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-3 to Prescott. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 19, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Coconino saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Connor Allen also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Coconino's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Mohave, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Mohave suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Coconino when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Mohave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
