Baseball Game Preview: Des Arc Eagles vs. Newport Greyhounds

The Des Arc Eagles will face off against the Newport Greyhounds at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Des Arc has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Des Arc lost 15-1 to Woodlawn on Saturday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Des Arc saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chad McCary, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. That RBI was McCary's first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newport). They were the clear victors by a 26-1 margin over Hoxie on Thursday. The Greyhounds have beaten the Mustangs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mustangs has come to flipping the script.

Des Arc's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Newport, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
