Basketball Recap: Cosumnes Oaks Comes Up Short

Cosumnes Oaks played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Pleasant Grove Eagles, falling 68-45. The Wolfpack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.

It was another big night for Pharrell Williams, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five steals for Pleasant Grove. Another player making a difference was AJ Breslin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.

Cosumnes Oaks has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-14.

Cosumnes Oaks didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 88-79 loss against Franklin on the 29th. Pleasant Grove has also already played their next match, a 77-48 defeat against Monterey Trail on the 27th.
