Football Game Preview: Palmyra Cougars vs. Northern York Polar Bears

The Palmyra Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Northern York Polar Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Palmyra came up short against Red Land and fell 22-13. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Northern York played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 28-7 to Shippensburg. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Greyhounds are ranked 167th).

Palmyra will have to contain Tristan Wenrich as he made an impact in Northern York's last game. He rushed for 89 yards and one TD, and also picked up 48 receiving yards.

Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Northern York, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Palmyra took a serious blow against Northern York when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 48-14. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
