Preview: Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes vs. North Shore Mustangs
The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the North Shore Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Duncanville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 games -- so hopefully North Shore likes a good challenge.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Duncanville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by the Panthers on the road to the tune of 52-10. Considering Duncanville has won 13 games by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Caden Durham, who rushed for 226 yards while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. He hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games.
Meanwhile, North Shore put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 23-14 win over Westlake. Despite the win, that was the fewest points North Shore has scored all year.
North Shore's success was spearheaded by the efforts of D?andre Hardeman jr, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown, and Kaleb Bailey, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown. Hardeman jr set a new season high mark in carries with 29.
Duncanville's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for North Shore, their win bumped their record up to 15-0.
Duncanville beat North Shore 28-21 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Duncanville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
