Baseball Recap: Dumont Comes Up Short

The Dumont Huskies didn't have quite enough to beat the Garfield Boilermakers on Tuesday and fell 5-4.

Alex Martin and Luke Sobek stepped up to the plate in a big way. Martin went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Sobek went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was James Sutera, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Dumont's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Garfield, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dumont will take on Bergenfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Garfield, they will challenge Ridgefield Park at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
