Soccer Recap: Fabens Comes Up Short

Fabens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the San Elizario Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 787th, while the Eagles are ranked 266th).

Fabens' loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for San Elizario, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 18-2-2.

Looking ahead, Fabens will head out to square off against Riverside at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Fabens has given up an average of 4.6 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for San Elizario, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Ysleta at 11:30 a.m. One thing working in San Elizario's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last 12 matches.
