Soccer Game Preview: Rock Ridge vs. Woodgrove

The Rock Ridge Phoenix will square off against the Woodgrove Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Rock Ridge is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Loudoun Valley. Considering the last time Rock Ridge couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Woodgrove's offense. They fell just short of Loudoun County by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The shutout was out of character for Woodgrove seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Rock Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10-3. As for Woodgrove, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4-2.

Rock Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodgrove when the teams last played back in May of 2021, winning 3-1. Will the Phoenix repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
