Volleyball Recap: Lindenhurst Comes Up Short

Lindenhurst managed to slip by Newfield the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Wolverines on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Lindenhurst took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 27-25.

Lily Kolasinski was the offensive standout of the match as she had four aces and one block. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Lindenhurst and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-0 Connetquot (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 83.3% over those games). As for Newfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lindenhurst will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Connetquot at 6:00 p.m. on October 8. As for Newfield, they will square off against Huntington at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
