Preview: Milton-Union Bulldogs vs. Houston Wildcats
The Milton-Union Bulldogs will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Houston Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. Hopefully Milton-Union focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
On Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for Milton-Union in a 38-20 win over Bethel. Given Milton-Union's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Bethel is ranked 570th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jenna Brumbaugh continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Milton-Union's points. Another player making a difference was Sophie Layman, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Houston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 52-27 defeat at the hands of Anna.
Milton-Union's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything came up roses for Milton-Union against Houston in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 55-27 win. With Milton-Union ahead 34-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
