Volleyball Recap: Windham Comes Up Short

Windham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Harding Skippers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bombers of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Windham was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Harding's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 26-24.

Makenzi Blockinger paced Windham's offense, picking up six kills. Blockinger got some help from Kyleigh Simpson and her six assists. Blockinger also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Makenna Jones, racking up three apiece.

Brooklyn Butchino was a one-woman wrecking crew For Harding. as she had 11 digs, five kills, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Lennon Abate, who had eight digs and four aces.

Windham's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Harding, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Windham has already played their next game (against Chalker), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Harding, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Bloomfield on the 22nd.
