Stratton scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sedgwick County Cougars.

Stratton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ricky Schillig, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Schillig has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Judson Isenbart, who posted 17 points along with six boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Stratton was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tate Renquist was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 23 en route to 31 points for Sedgwick County. With that strong performance, Renquist is now averaging an impressive 16.4 points per game. Joshua Palic was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Stratton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Sedgwick County, their record is now 6-2.

Stratton is taking a road trip to square off against Eads at 4:00 p.m. on January 24th. Sedgwick County has already played their next game, a 55-41 win against Caliche on the 17th.
