In what's become a running theme this season, the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Southwest Florida Christian 61-20 on the road. Donahue Catholic's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Donahue Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Veronica Halisky, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Scholastica Niewald, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Donahue Catholic and bumps their season record up to 13-5. As for Southwest Florida Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Donahue Catholic will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (First Baptist Academy is ranked 255th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 278th). As for Southwest Florida Christian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st.
