Basketball Game Preview: Christiansburg Blue Demons vs. Lord Botetourt Cavaliers

The Christiansburg Blue Demons will venture away from home to take on the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Christiansburg took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-46 win over Tunstall.

Meanwhile, Lord Botetourt waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 62-10. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Eagles are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lord Botetourt pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.7 points over those games. As for Christiansburg, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.

Christiansburg lost to Lord Botetourt on the road by a decisive 73-57 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2019. Can Christiansburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
