Basketball Recap: Westfall Wins Going Away Against Paint Valley

Westfall won the last time they faced Paint Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The stars were shining brightly for the Mustangs in a 53-37 win over the Bearcats. That looming 53-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Westfall's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenzie Cook, who went 7-for-12 en route to 20 points and three steals. The Mustangs are 2-1 when Cook posts 15 or more points, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Moehl, who posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Westfall was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Westfall's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Paint Valley, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.
